DARK TRANQUILLITY To Release 'Zero Distance' EP In North America, Begin Work On New Album

Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY will digitally release the "Zero Distance" EP on October 22 in North America. Taken from the European tour edition of "We Are The Void" (2010),the five tracks on the EP are a must-have for any diehard DARK TRANQUILLITY fan.

DARK TRANQUILLITY had this to say about the EP and the immediate future of the band: "We are excited to offer the 'Zero Distance' EP to our U.S. fans who missed out on being able to pick up the limited tour edition of 'We Are The Void'. We would also like to inform our fans that we're are already working on songs for the new album and we plan to enter the studio after the 'Metal Attack Over Europe' tour with our [Century Media] labelmates WARBRINGER! We expect to see a summer 2013 release of this new opus and we look forward to seeing everyone in the U.S. as we tour in support of this new release..."

DARK TRANQUILLITY's ninth album, "We Are The Void", sold around 2,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 15 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"We Are The Void" was released in North America on March 9, 2010 via Century Media Records. The LP was made available in Europe as a CD, digital download and strictly limited-edition die-cut digipak featuring two bonus songs ("Stars Of Nothingness" and "To Where Fires Cannot Feed") and a bonus DVD.
